Resection of the mass was done and sent for histopathological examination.Gross examination of the received specimen revealed multiple irregular tissue bits and one tubular tissue bit.Multiple sections studied from resected tissue showed features of xanthogranulomatous inflammation in appendix and periappendicular tissue.
